Our Approach

At Marathon Mental Health & Wellness Inc., we believe that you are the expert on your life, so our approach is person-centered. This means that you hold the answers, and it takes intentional conversation to unearth those answers. Together, we create a treatment plan that is purposeful, and meaningful to you, the client. Our process is rooted in collaboration, relationship building, and leveraging your strengths to achieve your therapeutic goals.

Evidence-Based Therapies

We utilize evidence-based approaches to psychotherapy and counselling, such as

  • CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) which means that the work we do together is backed by science and research.

  • EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing), which can be incredibly beneficial for a wide range of mental health concerns and wellness goals, especially when it comes to the treatment of trauma, complex trauma, and PTSD.

  • Gottman Method, which is a highly researched couples counselling method.

Modalities such as EMDR, CBT, and the Gottman Method can be helpful in measuring and identifying progress in your therapeutic journey, which lends to a sense of accomplishment and change that you can see and feel for yourself.
